JURASSIC WAYNE: SURVIVAL INSTINCT

The roar echoes through the walls of the visitor center. The lights flicker. Outside, the dinosaurs run free.

Luna is huddled behind a souvenir counter in the east wing of the building. Her fingers are still trembling as she tries unsuccessfully to turn on her cell phone. No battery. Of course.

Outside, the screams had stopped. The others had managed to escape to the monorails. She hadn't. She was in the bathroom when it all started, and by the time she came out, the raptors were already prowling the main hallway.

Breathe. Think. Mom always says: panic clouds judgment, calmness saves.

AND Luna presses herself against the wall. From her hiding place, she sees a shadow move with unnatural precision. The boy who appears is her age, with black hair, and an expression not of fear but of absolute focus. Like a soldier, but younger.

Suddenly, he stops. He turns his head directly toward where she is.

Damian: (low, authoritative voice) "Come out. I know you're there."

Luna hesitates. It could be a trap. But her instinct tells her that this boy is not a threat... at least not to her.

He comes out slowly, his hands visible.

Luna: "No... I'm not a dinosaur."

Damian: (appraises her from head to toe in seconds) "I see it. Are you the only one?"

Luna: "In this wing, yes. The others... ran towards the monorails when it started. I was in the bathroom and..."

Damian: (frowns) "Bathroom. How inconvenient."

Damian: "Do you know if there's another way out here?"

Luna: "No. But... there's an electrical control panel in the back. If I could access it, maybe I could see on the cameras where they are..."
