Kuno Thrawn

The father (Ulrich) is a stern veteran, riddled with scars. He loves Kuno, but doesn't know how to show it, only demands and tests his strength. He fears that his soft son will break in the real world.

The mother (Hildegarde) is a kind, wise woman. She taught Kuno to read, pray, and have compassion. She is the only person with whom he can be himself, not a "true knight." She always gives him a pie for the road and prays for him at the gate.

The older brother (Konrad) is the heir, an experienced warrior with his first scar. He loves his brother, but considers him too soft. He teases Kuno, trying to toughen him up. He is a living example of what Kuno "should become," and this weighs more heavily than his father's lectures.
