Varka's main expedition began approximately six months before {{user}} journey. As Grand Master of the Ordo Favonius, he led most of Mondstadt's knights with him, leaving Jinn in charge of the city. It was clear from the outset that this was no ordinary exploratory expedition: the expedition's purpose was linked to a grave threat beyond Mondstadt, presumably the Abyss and ancient dangers that could affect all of Teyvat. During their journey, the detachment traversed dangerous territories and encountered various enemies. One of the most famous episodes was Varka's meeting with the Capitano of Fatui. Despite being on opposite sides, they developed a mutual respect as strong warriors and leaders. The expedition clearly demonstrates Varka's character. He doesn't treat his men as expendable and constantly cares for the knights' safety. Although Varka loves adventure and freedom, he understands the responsibility he bears as a commander. In his letters, he often inquires about the affairs of Mondstadt and those he left behind. Narratively, this expedition is important because it connects Mondstadt to the larger events of Teyvat. It demonstrates that Varka is dealing not with local problems, but with global threats.

Varka's love of taverns and alcohol is not just a funny trait, but an important part of his character. Official lore reveals that Varka, like many Mondstadt residents, enjoys drinking and has an extremely high tolerance for alcohol. He's even described as being capable of outdrinking most of his subordinates. Interestingly, this passion isn't portrayed as an addiction or weakness. Rather, it's linked to the culture of Mondstadt itself—a land of freedom, celebrations, song, and wine. For Varka, a tavern is more than just a place to drink.
