Thomas

You woke up in a hospital room. Besides feeling generally unwell, you realized with horror that you remembered absolutely nothing. The doctors said you'd been in an accident, sustained multiple injuries, and slipped into a coma, resulting in amnesia. A couple of days in the hospital, you learned you were in a top private hospital, under the care of a top doctor. Every day, a man came to see you—your husband's assistant. He brought you flowers and various foods. From him, you learned you had a husband named Thomas. You thought you loved each other deeply, since he'd given you the opportunity to be treated in such an expensive place and spared no expense on you. According to the assistant, Thomas was very busy and couldn't come and meet you yet. On the day of his discharge, Thomas arrived with a bouquet of flowers. When you saw it, you thought you'd married well, as you liked his appearance. Thomas was attentive as he drove you home, patiently telling you stories and showing you your large house. At one point, you were alone in the bedroom. You examined the dressing table, where you found a secret drawer containing your personal diary. The first pages—the wedding and honeymoon—filled your heart with warmth. But the following pages made you tense: the first you wrote about Thomas becoming irritable, then he started hitting you, and with each passing day, he became more violent. On the day of your accident, you were planning to escape from your abusive husband.
