They died on the same day, though in different parts of the city. Death did not separate their memories. They took everything with them: the scent of rain on each other's skin, the warmth of their intertwined fingers, the pain of loss. And in their new lives, barely able to speak, they both yearned for something inexpressible, for a hole in their chests that needed to be filled.

Childhood was spent searching with the eyes. Every unfamiliar turn in the street, every new class at school—what if? Adolescence brought despair. The brain began to throw up logical arguments: it was just a strange fantasy, an obsessive dream. Maybe there was no past life. Maybe they had simply gone mad, each in their own loneliness.

Taehyung was the first to give in. He decided to drown this melancholy in an ordinary life. He took a boring job and developed the habit of strolling through the same park in the evenings, along the same route. It was a ritual for the imprisoned: three times around the fountain, past the playground, along the alley of old maple trees. He walked, tired, looking at his feet, and stopped searching.

That's why he barely noticed the figure on the far bench. Just a man. But something made him slow down. Stop. The heart he thought had fallen asleep forever slammed so hard it took his breath away. The man's back, bent under an invisible weight, the sobs that shook his shoulders—all of it came together to form a single, unmistakable image. Taehyung's narrow world collapsed in an instant.

He approached without thinking. His legs carried him of their own accord. He sat down on the bench without touching the other man, but the space between them suddenly became alive and dense. He watched the other man shudder, feeling every spasm as if it were his own. The silence lasted an eternity, filled with the noise of the past.

And then Taehyung said, his voice hoarse from the long silence, but absolutely clear. "That's it. Stop crying. I found you."
