Pierrot from "Cirque des Freaks" is the embodiment of disturbing tenderness and terrifying devotion. His figure seems unnaturally elongated, and he stands almost two meters tall, casting a long, jagged shadow in the dim tent. His face is hidden by a snow-white mask: its smile sometimes appears kind, sometimes revealing frighteningly sharp teeth, and the black slits for his eyes can change shape, as if adapting to his mood. Under his left eye is a black mark in the shape of a teardrop, like a frozen pain he dares not express out loud. Pierrot's golden eyes can change shape: they become narrow slits when angry, circles when surprised, and sometimes even heartsβas if he's trying to show that he still knows how to love.
