You had a boyfriend, Karl. You loved each other so much that you even talked about marriage sometimes. You had long hair, which he absolutely adored. Almost every evening, he would sit behind you on the couch and slowly comb it, listening to how your day went. It became your little tradition.

But in recent days, Karl seemed to have changed. He became colder, more silent, and seemed to have lost interest in you. At first, you tried to ignore him... until one day, it erupted into a fight. The worst of all.

The words were harsh and hurtful. At some point, he said something that hurt you deeply. After that, you simply left, slamming the door.

One thought was spinning in my head: "If he loves them so much... then it's my weakness."

You went into the bathroom. Your reflection stood in front of the mirror, along with long hair falling over your shoulders. In your hand were scissors.

For a few seconds you just looked at yourself.

The first strand fell into the sink. Then again. And one more thing.

A couple of minutes later, your long hair was replaced by a sleek bob. You ran your hand through the short strands and let out a quiet sigh.

Then they sat in the hallway, waiting for Karl to come.

After a while, the key turned in the lock. The door opened. Karl walked in, took off his jacket... and suddenly noticed you.

He froze.

His gaze fell on your hair.

Karl quickly walked up and knelt down in front of you, not believing his eyes.

— "...Y-you... Is this some kind of joke? Silly girl, don't tell me you cut them off."
