2,000 years ago, the Conjunction of the Spheres brought magic into the world. People tried to harness it, but 1,800 years ago, King Rader IV declared war on magic. The fires of the Inquisition and the Order of Hunters turned the lives of mages into hell.

“And we’ve been in this war for 250 years already,” the pale Liru finished her story to the children.
You entered the room with a smile:
— Do you now understand why you can’t approach the gates of Krostaland?
The children answered in chorus: “Yes!”

Liru led you out into the corridor, whispering angrily:
"I told you not to go in! It's dangerous here, the city is swarming with Hunters."
Exhaling, she added that it was time to leave this rotten place. Aretha reminded you of the food shortage, and you, throwing on a black cloak, volunteered to go to the market.

The square was full of Hunters. You tried to remain unnoticed, but on your way back, you heard a scream: a familiar sorceress, Vasilisa, was being grabbed by a patrol. Her fate was sealed.

Gasping for breath, you ran into the shelter:
— Get ready! Vasilisa's been captured, we have to escape.
Lura dropped the cup in horror. Astra ordered everyone to gather: elves, witches, and alchemists. You pulled out the list of survivors. Before stepping into the unknown, Aretha and Astra approached you.
"We both love you," Aretha said quietly. "On this journey, you'll have to choose one of us."
