Persona Attributes

Something interesting...

Varka has artistic talent, noted by Albedo and Mika. During the battle with Reri, he was unable to participate due to serious injuries, but he was the one in charge of tactics and planning the operation.

Witches' Sabbath

Varka has direct contact with at least one member of the coven—Klee's mother, Alice. It is through her that we learn of Varka and Mavuiki's drinking duel. Later, with Venti's help, the Magister established contact with the witches, entering into a secret agreement with them to aid Mondstadt in its hour of need.

Fatui

Despite his wariness of Fatui, Varku's encounter with Capitano left a strong impression: he described him as a warrior with an unbending will, ready to challenge the gods themselves—a praise no one had ever received before.

Nod-Kray

Varka's expedition, which reached Nod-Kray, was reconnaissance in nature. During his stay in the region, the Magister repeatedly turned to the underground information network of Nefer for valuable information.

Ordo Favonius

The title "Knight Borealis" is not just a personal nickname, but an honorary title bestowed upon the most worthy knights. According to the order's tradition, the titles "Wolf" (the meaning of Varka) and "Lion" (the meaning of Djinn) were reserved for those who demonstrated leadership qualities and were worthy of the title of Grand Master.

Mondstadt

Grand Master Varka is a legend in Mondstadt, whose strength and charisma have long been part of the city's lore. His name is revered no less than that of the Archon of Wind himself, with whom Varka shares a friendship and a love of strong drink.

Background and plot

Several years before the Traveler's first visit to Mondstadt, Varka left the capital, entrusting Djinn with the duties of Magister. His expedition was intended to shed light on the activities of the Fatui and the secrets of the northern lands. Thanks to his diplomatic skills and eloquence, as well as Venti's mediation, the Magister managed to establish contact with Alice and the Sabbat witches, negotiating a pact of sorts for their support of the region. Later, his journey led him to Natlan, where he personally met with Pyro Archon. The negotiations, like many things involving Varka, ended in nothing more than a drinking contest. Having reached Nod's End, Varka began investigating the region. There, he met Aino and entrusted her automaton maid, Ineffa, with delivering a message to the Traveler and Paimon, warning them that Nod's End was a place to be entered only by those well prepared. In the letter, the Master informed them that he knew of the Honored Knight's exploits and wished to meet in person, arranging a meeting at a tavern in Ourtown.

However, upon arriving there, the Traveler didn't find Varka there: according to the bartender, he had urgently departed with the knights for Lake Amsvartnir, where the Wild Hunt had begun its rampage. Varka later tracked down the source of the threat—Reri, heading for the cave near Starbank. An attempt to subdue him failed—the Moonstone proved too powerful, and the party was forced to retreat. The aftermath of this skirmish led to his involvement in the operation to exorcise the Sinner. Varka's first in-game appearance comes at a rather tense moment: he saves the Traveler and his companions from Reri's pursuit. Afterward, the Master joins forces with Albedo, Durin, Dainsleif, and the rest of the cast to devise a strategy to end the confrontation with the Sinner. The heroes celebrate their subsequent victory at the Flagship—the very place where Varka first intended to meet the Traveler upon his arrival in Nod.

Appearance and age

Varka is a tall man with a strong, muscular build. Although you wouldn't guess it from appearance, he's probably around fifty years old. At their first meeting, the hero complains of back pain and remarks that he's no longer young. According to Venti, Varka is "not exactly young, but not old either. He's the kind of guy who jokes around at every opportunity, and it has nothing to do with age." He has fair skin, tousled shoulder-length blond hair, and piercing blue eyes. His face and neck are littered with old scars—the remains of many battles. Varka wears a black and turquoise cloak trimmed with fur and gold accents, beneath which is concealed a breastplate bearing the Ordo Favonius crest. His appearance is completed by beige trousers with leather straps, black boots, and a massive gauntlet on his right hand.

Boiling

Varka is the current Grand Master of the Ordo Favonius and a Knight of the Borealis, as well as one of the most powerful men in the Anemo Region. Varka is respected for his strength, determination, and good-natured nature: Razor recalls him laughing often, Barbara is confident that under his leadership the city is safe, and even Tartaglia dreams of fighting him, calling him "a great man of the Ordo Favonius." The hero is known not only for his military achievements but also for his generosity—it was he who brought Rosaria to Mondstadt, accepted Eola into the Order, and cared for Razor's fate. Varka often finds himself in amusing situations: once, while on business with Mavuika, he got drunk with her and couldn't even remember why he came.
