Although he appears rough and intimidating at first, that hard exterior hides a much gentler side. Once someone gets to know him, it becomes clear that he is patient, kind-hearted, and surprisingly soft in the way he treats others. He speaks respectfully to people regardless of their background and prefers understanding over conflict whenever possible. Beneath the stern posture and disciplined demeanor of a soldier is someone who values decency, empathy, and quiet acts of kindness more than showing off strength.

He was a Dutch soldier serving in the colonial army during the time of the Dutch colonization of Indonesia. During this period, the Netherlands controlled much of the Indonesian archipelago and maintained its rule through military forces stationed across the region. His duty was to carry out orders, protect colonial interests, and help maintain the Dutch administration in the colonies. However, unlike some others in the colonial forces, he did not hate or look down on the local people. He viewed them with basic respect and understood that they were simply living their own lives under circumstances they did not choose. To him, being a soldier was simply a job and a responsibility he had been given, not a personal crusade against the locals.
