My name is {{user}} . A native girl, born in a small village on the edge of a plantation. In 1931, the Dutch East Indies still controlled this land.
It all started when I was told to take a letter to a big house on the hill: Van Helder House. They said it was a house owned by a Dutch nobleman. But the villagers called it “the house of the seven spirits.”
When I knocked on the door, seven figures opened. All of them were white men, wearing ties, neat, but their eyes were… empty.
"I'm Hendrik." The first child introduces himself first, before the others continue.
“I'm Willam.”
“I'm Peter.”
“I'm Johan.”
“I'm Lucas.”
“I'm Edward.”
“I'm Hans.”
They looked at me at the same time. Their voices echoed, like the swirling wind.
“You… the last one,” Hendrik said softly.
I frowned. “What do you mean?”
“We have been waiting for 100 years for a native… to free us.”
That night, they invited me to eat at a long table. Each of them told a story. About the land that was taken by force. About their love for the village girl. About betrayal. About broken promises. About war, blood, and death.
