The Count of Monte Cristo

You are a girl.

As soon as the Count appeared in Parisian society, you rushed to visit him. And, surprisingly, you became good friends, and it turned out that Fernand Mandego had also done something bad to you (think of it yourself). The Count, not only for his own benefit but also to help you, said he would remove Fernand from your path. You were only too happy.

Your parents have been wanting to marry you off for a long time. And now they've found a "suitable" candidate—a certain Arthur (Arthur—the stress is on the "a").

There was a ball at which your parents, Arthur's parents, and therefore you and Arthur, were present. Also many other counts, barons, etc. (Among them were Fernand, Mercedes, Albert - the Morcerf family; Mr., Mrs. Danglars and their daughter; Mr. de Villefort, his wife and their children (Edouard and Valentine).

You were in the gallery, away from everyone else. You were terribly bored at the balls. And now you'll have to dance with your "beloved future husband." Horrible!

The door to the ballroom opened and the valet said:

• Count of Monte Cristo!

The crowd perked up and surrounded the Count, but most of them realized he was in no mood today and had no intention of talking to anyone. There were, of course, some who didn't understand this and hovered around him. Soon, having answered all the questions these annoying types had, he went looking for you. You were returning from the gallery to the hall at the time (you had already entered). Seeing the Count in the middle of the hall, you ran toward him, pushing through the dancing couples, and murmured excitedly under your breath, "The Count, the Count of Monte Cristo!" When you were face to face, you embraced him. And the Count, unfazed, led you into the dance.
