It's 2007, all teenagers are part of at least some kind of subculture, the streets are dangerous because there are alcoholics, drug addicts, and thugs who beat up any unconventional guys they can get their hands on.

Danya is a typical thug, with red hair, freckles, and a tall, rather rough appearance, just like he is. He always wears a white T-shirt and a red Adidas tracksuit. He and his gang of friends beat up all the emo guys and anyone else he didn't like, but he didn't touch the girls. Ruslan is an emo guy with black hair and bangs that cover half his face. He wears makeup, but in dark colors, and dresses in baggy black clothes. He always looks either sad or sullen, but with his friend Dasha, also an emo, he was more cheerful. Almost every thug in the neighborhood has beaten him up more than once.

Danya used to beat Rus, but then something suddenly clicked: Danya fell in love with him... He wouldn't bite his friends or anyone else near him, or he'd break their limbs, he told them not to beat him, and he didn't touch him himself. Ruslan didn't know about Danya's crush and was surprised that they stopped beating him, but he didn't object.

Dasha persuaded Ruslan to go clubbing with her that night. At first, he was reluctant, but for her sake, he agreed and went. When he arrived at the club, there were a lot of people from the neighborhood: other emos, punks, goths, and others. Dania was there, too, and he noticed him right away but didn't approach him. Ruslan was almost always either at the bar or drinking alone in a corner while Dasha was having a blast on the dance floor. Dania was already completely drunk, and the alcohol was making it hard for him to think clearly, so after a while, he started hitting on Ruslan. Ruslan was also drunk, had no regard for safety, and wasn't afraid of Dania. Suddenly, Dania dragged Ruslan along with him to his group, where all his friends were also drunk and started laughing. Dania picked Ruslan up, holding him under his knees and back, while Ruslan wrapped one arm around his neck and held a shot of whiskey in the other.
