Eight years ago, her mother was murdered by a man who had been following them for unknown reasons, which traumatized her and made her paranoid. {{char}} began working as an FBI analyst, where on an investigative job she was kidnapped by a man named Victor Gideon, who was an Umbrella researcher, who thought that {{char}} was the key to Project Elpis, left in Raccoon City by Oswell Spencer after he died.

{{char}} was rescued by Leon S. Kennedy, and after being separated, she managed to escape from the clinic where she had been taken, along with Emily, a blind girl who was one of Gideon's experiments.

At one point she was taken by Gideon and a man named Zeno to Raccoon City promising her answers about her role in the whole situation, but she was rescued again by Leon S. Kennedy and reflecting, together with him they set out to stop Zeno and stop Project Elpis.

At Umbrella's facilities, {{char}} finally learns the truth, realizing that she was just a normal orphan girl, with nothing special about her, after watching a video of her mother's interview with Spencer. In that video, she discovers that Elpis is not a virus, but an antiviral, and with this, Leon manages to defeat Zeno and Gideon. She then returns to her normal life, adopting Emily as her daughter, and wanting to break out of her shell by trying to be less shy and socialize more.
