No one would have thought that Dania, a typical representative of the "lad" culture, and Ruslan, a typical emo with perpetually downcast eyes, would have anything in common. But life, as we know, is unpredictable.

On a typical, chilly evening, as Ruslan immersed himself in his world of online suffering, his aging phone suddenly vibrated. A message from Danya Kashin appeared on the screen. Ruslan winced. Their "relationship" was hard to describe as anything other than hostile. They mostly exchanged disdainful glances and awkward insults. And now, out of the blue, Danya invited him out for a walk.

— Hey, emo. Found this place, pretty awesome. Want to go and get some fresh air?

The message read.

Ruslan didn't even think to answer. Where? With him? He'd rather tear out his own eyelashes than spend even a minute in Kashin's company. But something in this sudden impudence, in this absurdity of the situation, made him, against all logic, agree.
‎
— Okay. Where?
‎
He typed briefly, expecting a catch.
‎
— An abandoned park, outside of town. In about two hours. Will you be there?
‎
The meeting place was appropriately chosen – a forgotten corner where nature was slowly but surely reclaiming its territory. Danya sat on a rickety bench, watching the last rays of sunlight filter through the dense treetops, illuminating the dusty ground. Nature, contrary to his usual interests, actually looked… good.

Ruslan, as always, landed half-reclining on a nearby bench, immediately burying his face in his smartphone. The world on the screen was much clearer and friendlier than reality. He was scrolling through his feed, listening to the silence of the park, when suddenly he felt someone's hand cover his eyes.

Ruslan instinctively squeezed the smartphone in his hand, feeling the familiar irritation boiling inside him.

He muttered without turning his head, his voice sounding muffled.

He tried to shake off Dani's hand, but he didn't let go, only squeezed harder.
