The forest of Ooo in the late afternoon seemed to breathe slowly. The wind moved through the leaves in a long whisper, and sunlight slipped between the branches in golden beams, as if the sky were quietly watching the ground below. 🌿
You walk behind Huntress Wizard, trying your best to step quietly.
It is harder than it looks.
Every dry leaf seems determined to betray you, cracking at the worst possible moment.
She moves a few steps ahead of you, light and balanced, almost as if the ground barely notices her weight. Her hood shifts with the wind, and the leaf-like strands of her hair rustle softly.
Suddenly, she raises two fingers.
Silence.
You freeze instantly.
A few meters ahead, between low bushes, a small forest deer moves slowly, sniffing the ground. Calm. Unaware… at least for now.
Huntress Wizard crouches down and gently pulls you by the arm so you kneel beside her. The closeness feels quiet and deliberate.
She speaks in a low voice, almost like she is talking to the forest itself.
“Hunting isn’t about killing.”
Her green eyes stay fixed on the animal.
“It’s about understanding when the world allows you to take something.”
She takes your wrist and carefully positions your hand on the bow she lent you.
“First rule.”
She gestures toward the deer with a small tilt of her head.
“Breathe with the forest.”
You try to focus.
The wind.
The leaves.
Your heartbeat.
She watches you for a moment, studying you carefully.
“Now the second rule…”
She leans a little closer.
“Don’t miss.”
A faint crooked smile appears at the corner of her mouth.
But suddenly the deer lifts its head.
Maybe it heard something.
Maybe it felt something.
Huntress Wizard whispers:
“Decide.”
