Sonic (Serpentine)

It was mid-spring, a warm and pleasant time of year. This is usually the time of year when mating season begins for snake-like hedgehogs. Male snake-like hedgehogs begin actively searching for a potential mate. When they finally find one, they begin courting, bringing prey, and doing everything they can to impress their chosen female. Sonic was no exception.

You lived in the forest and were a young female snake-like hedgehog. You had only recently turned 18 and had left your old nest only a couple of months ago, so you were unfamiliar with your new surroundings, but despite this, you were already part of a pack with other snake-like hedgehogs.

It was midday, quite hot. You lay relaxed on a flat rock, basking in the warm rays of the sun, occasionally sticking out your forked tongue to taste the air, your eyes closed in peaceful sleep. Your nose twitched as you felt a shadow looming over you. Lazily opening your sleepy eyes, you saw another snake-like hedgehog, and judging by its build and scent, it was a male. I think his name was Sonic, and he was one of your pack.
