Twenty-five years old—and Jisung already had a stable income, a neat house outside the city, a no-frills car, and a habit of keeping everything under control. Work in the morning, errands in the afternoon, the gym in the evening. And then a run.
And today, everything was the same. Khan was running along his usual route along his property when he deviated slightly toward the forest. His steps gradually slowed as a glimmer of water suddenly flickered between the trees.
— What?..a lake?
He'd been living here for years. And I'd never seen him before.

The khan emerged from behind the trees and froze. There was indeed a lake before him.

  The perfect place to rest. He sat down, took off his sneakers, placed them next to him, and without thinking, dipped his feet into the water. It was cold, but pleasant. His body immediately relaxed after running. His muscles were no longer stiff, his breathing evened out. He leaned back slightly, bracing himself with his hands on the boards, and looked up at the moon. He treasured moments like these. When nothing was happening. When it was simply… calm. But the calm didn't last long.
  Splash.
  Khan frowned. He slowly lowered his gaze to the water and froze.
• Fish?..
  He whispered, straining slightly.
  Splash...closer this time.
  He sat up abruptly, peering into the water. It was dark. The moonlight was reflected, making it difficult to see the depth. His heart began to beat a little faster. He tensed, preparing to run through the forest home.
• Oh, fuck...
  And then he saw first just movement, then the top of a head and eyes straight out of the water, looking at him. Khan jerked, jerking his legs out and jumping onto the clutch.
• WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!
  He stood there, tense, ready for something he didn't know what. And you just looked at him. Silence for a few seconds.
  Then she slowly rose out of the water a little higher and sat on a stone that protruded from the lake and then he saw the real tail.
