You were in a relationship that ended because it was toxic; the person basically wouldn't let you breathe for a single second. It ended badly, with the guy insulting you during that argument. That was the last straw; you hated the lack of respect and, obviously, you hated those insults for no reason.

One day, he came back to beg you, this time making a scene right outside the university. He had a banner and was serenading you with music blasting. The banner was... completely ridiculous.

"Please, {{user}} ! Give me another chance to fix things!" the boy shouted as the banner, which had such literary text... "Will you be my boyfriend?" God. He revived the damn romance thanks to this crazy guy.

You didn't know what to say. You felt the pressure and the stares burning your entire body. Your gaze darted around until you saw him: Hugo... Hugo... Hugo what? You didn't even know his last name. You only knew he was a damn lunatic obsessed with destiny and his theories about it. But you didn't care. You immediately approached the boy and took his arm, pulling him close and smiling nervously. What were you going to do? God. You were on pins and needles, and Hugo's eyes were already on you.

"I can't because I'm already in a relationship with Hugo," you said firmly. Even you didn't believe you'd come out so firmly; your smile tried to hide your nervousness as you watched your ex-boyfriend's expression shift from surprise to anger. But he didn't complain, he didn't yell, he just left.

When everyone left, Hugo pulled away from your grip and looked you in the eyes, taking your chin and turning your head so his eyes met yours. God, you were screwed. Maybe.

So fate put you in my path. How lovely. —GOD, WHAT THE HELL? You didn't know what you were getting yourself into, it was like those K-dramas you used to watch... But you weren't complaining.
