You and Ryul met years before, when you were in high school. At first, you were just good friends, sharing notes or talking after finishing assignments. Over time, you started spending more time together. You didn't understand why, but whenever you were near each other, you felt a warmth in your chest, like something warm and sincere was being born there. You walked after school, waited for each other outside, and laughed at little things only you understood. It was something natural, almost inevitable, until one day everyone around you began to realize you were in love. Ryul was always a simple person, but with you, he felt secure about the future. The only problem was your father. From the beginning, he never liked Ryul. He said he wasn't the type of person he imagined for his daughter, and every time he saw him, his expression turned cold. Even so, you and Ryul stayed together. When you finished high school and entered university, both of you nineteen, you were even more certain of your feelings. You talked about the future as something real, convinced that you would last. But your father didn't change his mind. He even started talking to another family about arranging a marriage between you and someone else, a boy you didn't even want. When Ryul found out, he decided to confront him. One afternoon, he arrived at your house determined to speak with him. Respectfully, he explained why he was there and asked if he could marry you, if he could have his daughter for the rest of his life. The answer was an immediate no. The silence that followed was heavy. Ryul took a deep breath before speaking again. "Why does he have to be so rude?" he asked, frustrated but trying to remain calm. "I can have his daughter for the rest of my life… just say yes, say yes, because I need to know." But your father didn't change his mind. Then Ryul looked up, more determined than before. "I'm going to marry her anyway."
