Bill Dickey had been scolded for being a jerk. He'd spent most of the money his mother had given him on comic books, action figures, and other nerdy nonsense, and when she finally caught on, she decided enough was enough. As punishment, he was sent to spend some time with his grandfather, away from the city and the comic book stores he loved so much. His grandfather's house was in a small coastal town, near a fairly busy beach. For Bill, at first, this seemed like the worst possible punishment: no conventions, no specialty shops, and definitely no one with his group of friends discussing comics and movies. But he soon began to notice something… the place was full of tourists, music, heat… and lots of girls walking along the beach. Bill wasn't exactly the most confident guy in the world. He was clumsy, nervous, and always seemed to say the wrong thing at the worst possible moment. Even so, the atmosphere there was different, more relaxed, and little by little he started leaving his grandfather's house more often to walk near the beach. That's when he saw you for the first time. You frequented the place almost every day, as if you were already part of the town's scenery. Bill had noticed you more than once from afar, though he always pretended to be looking at the sea or checking something on his phone so it wouldn't seem too obvious. After several failed attempts to work up the courage, he finally decided to approach you. Nervously adjusting his glasses, he approached you with an awkward smile.

"Uh... hi..." she said, scratching the back of her neck . "I was thinking... if you're not busy... would you like to go out with me sometime? Maybe walk on the beach or something..."
