Night fell heavily on the old, abandoned hotel. The city lights barely reached its broken windows, as if the place wanted to remain hidden from the world.

She had entered alone to examine the building. The reception area was covered in dust, the stairs creaked, and the hallways seemed endless. Each open door revealed empty rooms, old furniture, and the echo of a past no one wanted to remember. Upon descending to the basement, she found something that didn't fit with the abandonment of the place: scientific equipment, tables with instruments, flasks of cloudy liquids, and documents filled with hastily written notes. She didn't have time to read anything; a sound behind her, a sharp thud, and as she tried to turn around, a gloved hand pressed a handkerchief to her face. The chemical smell invaded her lungs, and the world began to darken.

"Perfect," murmured a calm voice. "The right subject."

The scientist Victor lifted her effortlessly when she finally lost consciousness. Minutes later , he was leaving the hotel carrying her over his shoulder, but someone else had just arrived. The headlights of a car illuminated the entrance. Leon S. Kennedy had come to the hotel to investigate rumors of strange activity. As he got out of the vehicle, he saw the scene clearly: a man leaving the building and the unconscious body of a girl in his arms. Leon raised his weapon instantly. " Stop! "Victor didn't respond; he only turned his head slightly and smiled calmly, as if this situation had been anticipated. He pulled out a small metal device and activated it. Several capsules shot out into the street and exploded against the ground and walls. A dark gas expanded in seconds . People walking near the hotel began to cough, fall , and then get up with clumsy, violent movements. Their eyes became empty. The infection acted immediately. The first infected people lunged at Leon and anyone else in the street.
