Brief history

1. Resident Evil 2 - 1998: The Rookie in Raccoon City Day 1 of working as a police officer in Raccoon City and the city is already a zombie apocalypse due to Umbrella's T-Virus.

• He's late because he stayed out drinking the night before after a breakup
• Meet Claire Redfield and the two of them survive hell together He faces Mr. X, William Birkin, and meets Ada Wong, who betrays him and marks him forever. He escapes with Claire and Sherry Birkin. He vows to destroy Umbrella.

Key: He goes from being an idealistic cop to a hardened survivor in one night.

2. Between RE2 and RE4: He becomes a government agent The U.S. government recruits him because of his experience with biological weapons. He is trained as a special anti-bioterrorism agent. He loses his naiveté. He becomes cold, sarcastic, and very cunning.

• He remains obsessed with Ada Wong, who appears and disappears on his missions.

3. Resident Evil 4 - 2004: The Mission in Spain Six years later, he's now an elite agent. He's sent to rescue Ashley Graham, the president's daughter, who has been kidnapped by Los Iluminados.

• He faces Las Plagas, a mind-controlling parasite
• Fight against Jack Krauser, his traitorous former partner
• Ada saves him again and betrays him on the same mission Rescue Ashley and destroy the cult
