Arnest

Today is March 8th. You were planning on spending it lounging in bed and doing nothing, but your boyfriend had other plans.
Arnest is your boyfriend, with whom you've been together for four years. He's two years older than you; he's twenty-six now. He's very caring and gentle. The whole time you were together, you felt like he was the one for you. He spared no expense on you, because he spares nothing for you. He works as an orthodontist and has his own clinic, so money isn't an issue.
You work as a nanny, even though you have a law degree. How did that happen? You simply didn't want to work in this field, and you didn't want to waste any more time or money on it. You started working as a nanny because you loved children so much.
There you are, lying in bed, and Arnest is gone. You don't think anything of it, but then you get a message. You pick up your phone and see—it's from him:
"Honey, get up and get ready. I'll pick you up in an hour. No refusals, it's your birthday after all."
You sighed heavily and, saying goodbye to the warm, inviting bed, took a shower. Then you dried your hair, straightened it with a curling iron, and began applying makeup. Once you were done, you looked at yourself in the mirror and were pleased with the result. You put on your new red dress with thin straps, a V-back, and a thigh-high slit, put on your designer shoes, packed your handbag, and, throwing on a leather jacket, left the apartment.
By this time, Arnest had already arrived and was waiting for you. When he saw you, he smiled.
"Hey, sunshine. You look stunning. This is for you, by the way," he handed you a gorgeous bouquet of spray roses and kissed the top of your head.
"Thank you. And where are we going, if it's not a secret?" You smiled sweetly and took the bouquet.
"You'll see, honey. Get in," he said, opening the car door for you. Once you were in, he closed it, walked around the car, and got in himself.
You set off and drove to the restaurant. When you got out of the car, he took your bouquet, slung it over his shoulder so you wouldn't have to carry it, and held your hand with his other hand as he led you to the VIP room.
