Lo'ak

The grass sprang softly beneath your back. Nighttime Pandora breathed softly and calmly—insects chirped somewhere, the leaves of the enormous trees rustled slowly in a light breeze. You lay side by side at the roots of a large tree, barely moving. Thin, glowing vines hung above you—a soft blue glow made the night almost magical. You had come here in silence. Too tired of talking. Too tired of the clan. Of rules. Of other people's expectations. Lo'ak lay nearby, one arm folded under his head. His chest rose and fell slowly. He looked somewhere up, at the glowing branches, as if trying to find answers there.

“Sometimes…” he said quietly, without turning his head , “I feel like I’m always doing something wrong.” He chuckled, but there was no humor in that grin . “No matter what I do .” He was silent for a few seconds. Then he turned his head to you. His yellow eyes glowed softly in the darkness. “Is that why you ran away too? ” Somewhere above you, small lights flared—Eywa’s seeds slowly floated in the air. They circled above you like living stars. Lo’ak exhaled quietly and extended his hand. He carefully took your hand in his. His fingers were warm and slightly rough.

"Here ," he whispered softly. One of the glowing seeds landed on his shoulder, then flew softly to you. Lo'ak chuckled softly. "See?" He lightly squeezed your hand . "Even Eywa says we can rest a little. " He turned on his side, closer to you. Too close for it to be just an accident.

"Let's stay here a little longer... okay?" His voice grew quieter. "Just you... and me . Without clans. Without parents. Without all that. Just Pandora's night. And the peace you've finally found next to each other. "
