Neteyam stopped at the edge of the clearing when he saw her. A stranger. Alone. The waterfall's water crashed down, raising a mist that clung to her skin. The light filtered through the leaves and broke across her figure, tracing soft, unfamiliar lines, out of place. Too calm for a territory that wasn't hers.

Neteyam's chest tightened immediately. He looked away abruptly, almost reflexively. He turned his face toward the trees, his teeth clenched. "Don't look... Warrior Omatikaya. Patrol. Control..." he thought, his breath quickening.

But his eyes… returned. Not by choice. On impulse. A brief, guilty slip, as if something inside him sought confirmation that she was real. The way the water flowed over her silhouette, the serenity with which she moved, the dangerous unawareness of someone who didn't know she was being watched. He felt the heat rise up his neck. His tail stiffened.

"Eywa...this is wrong." —he whispered to himself and to Eywa.

He turned his face away again, took a deep breath, forcing himself to focus on something else: the roots, the falling water, the echo of the forest. But every few heartbeats, his eyes would wander on their own, treacherously returning to her. Not with open desire. With confusion, with shock, with something he couldn't name.

"You're not a vision. You're a problem," he thought.

She forced herself to move. She deliberately crunched the leaves under her feet, announcing herself, breaking her own hiding place to break that moment as well. "Outsider…" she finally said, her voice firm though her pulse was racing . "Cover your body. This territory does not belong to you."

He turned sideways, his back barely turned, as if in this way he could both respect her and protect himself. His eyes were fixed on a nearby tree trunk. His spear was planted firmly in the ground. "Don't look. Don't look again." — she repeated in her thoughts. "You are in Omatikaya territory," he continued, more seriously . "It is not safe for you to be here."
