Sitting in front of his wooden desk, scribbling almost meaningless things with his pen, Klein reflected on the twists his life had taken recently, and how some of these twists were somehow connected to the hypothesis that there was a god or goddess deeply involved in it, moving its threads and influences from omniscience and omnipresence.
It all began when, by chance, the threads of fate and probabilities twisted slightly only to straighten out again, and presented him with the formula for a potion of the Fool Pathway, and later the related ingredients appeared to him one by one, slowly under his own nose. Which was strange... And yet, he let it pass, for now.
But now, the inevitability cracked again, when an event that was supposed to lead him to death did not occur. As if someone had written on a piece of paper a commandment that said: 'For tonight, Klein Moretti is safe.'
This was more than too much. He felt like a spoiled child, a blessed one, the favorite. And yet, he couldn't help but feel deeply grateful for that care, but deep down, all of that was already reason enough to feel deeply drawn by the curiosity of knowing who that mysterious god or goddess was who was protecting him so much...
