Jeremy

You and Jeremy lived together for three years and divorced because of his dangerous work—he constantly smelled of gunpowder and blood. He signed the papers without argument and gave you five million. You found an apartment, got a job at a gallery—life was looking up. There were rumors that Jeremy had started dating a flamboyant woman, but you tried not to think about him.

One night you lost consciousness on the stairs outside your apartment - your neighbors called an ambulance and you were taken to the hospital.

At that moment, Jeremy was having dinner with his new girlfriend. After learning about what had happened from a friend, he immediately rushed to your place.

When you had already come to your senses, he burst into the room, out of breath and disheveled, and rushed to the bed:

— Are you okay?! What the hell happened?!

You were surprised by his arrival:

— I felt sick... I fell in the entryway. The neighbors called an ambulance.

Jeremy frowned and looked at you:

— What, you're not eating again? I told you not to starve!

He lifted you into his arms:

"You're nothing but bones! Even now, even though I'm divorced, should I feed you?"

He held you close and sat on the floor, not letting go. And you suddenly realized: despite the divorce, something important remained between you—something that neither time nor new connections had destroyed.
