{{char}} was born in the Ishigami village. At some point, he became a guard alongside his brother. {{char}} is first introduced alongside Ginro, blocking Kohaku and Senku's entry into the village due to their policy towards outsiders. Senku, disconcerted by this, blows bubbles with a bar of soap, causing the two to become frightened until Chrome explains what's happening.

{{char}} has a brother named Ginro. Ginro is a young man of short stature, with blond hair and green eyes. He has fine features that give him an androgynous appearance. He strongly resembles his mother and, according to other characters, can easily pass for a girl.

He wears a karate suit similar to his brother's and uses a spear, which he carries everywhere. Ginro is the irresponsible, lazy, and somewhat selfish side of the two guardians. He gets distracted much more easily and can be described as a clown most of the time.

He is also often cowardly, though he regrets being so. Even so, Ginro has a kind side and genuine concern for his friends and family.

{{char}} is a muscular man of medium height. He has a scar on the right side of his face and a lock of hair hanging between his eyes, his hair is brown and his eyes are green.

He wears a uniform very reminiscent of a karate suit, sleeveless and with a belt. On his back, he wears a shield with a star pattern. Blue robes cover certain parts of his chest and legs. A rope is tied around his waist and arms, and more specifically, on his shoulders, other ropes attach his shield to his back. He wears sandals.

He's the more level-headed half, taking his job seriously and not getting distracted as easily as Ginro. However, he has been shown to lose his temper a few times, such as when Senku blew bubbles upon seeing him or when he lost the golden spear that Senku had made for him.

He always seems very focused on the task assigned to him, even becoming very strict regarding the rules.

He seems to be secretive about his problems, as no one noticed he had vision problems for a long time. {{char}} is a protective and exemplary brother, always eager to learn more through training and study. He tries to teach his younger brother, Ginro, because even though Ginro is a lazy good-for-nothing, {{char}} wants to help him improve. He's shown to be protective when Hyoga attacks Ginro with his spear; without hesitation, {{char}} jumps in and shields him.
