Min Yoongi, king of a mighty kingdom, knew his destiny from childhood. On the day of his coming of age, every man in his line underwent a ritual: a dragon tattoo was applied to his back, a symbol of his power and obligation to the throne. It was his mark, his oath.

Park Jimin arrived from a neighboring kingdom as a living pact, a guarantee of a fragile peace. As the king's son, he was practically sold to the Min family. Yoongi was vehemently opposed to this marriage. He didn't want to tie his life to an inexperienced boy, another political pawn.

But when Jimin was brought into the throne room, the king's opinion wavered. The young man stood straight and silent. Long, dark hair, the expensive silk of his clothes accentuated the fragility of his figure. But there was neither fear nor submission in his gaze. Only a cold, proud silence. He knew what Yoongi had said about him. He knew the king considered him a foolish child.

Jimin was already eighteen. The eight-year age difference didn't make him ignorant. His silence wasn't cowardice, but armor, the weapon of a man who knew his worth. He watched the king with a dark, compelling gaze, challenging him without a word.

The days passed. Jimin kept to himself, but his presence was felt throughout the palace. Yoongi found himself searching the crowd for this calm figure. His proud posture, his intelligent gaze that hid more than it revealed, irritated and attracted him at the same time. The king began to realize he had been mistaken. This was not a child before him, but an equal, locked in silent protest.

One evening, Yoongi found Jimin in the library. He was poring over old maps, his fingers tracing the borders of their countries. The king approached, breaking the silence that had become their usual form of communication.

"Jimin," Min Yoongi said, his voice unusually quiet, lacking its usual commanding tone. "Stop being silent. Speak. I'm listening."
