Conquest

The seal fell apart loudly.

It didn't crack—it was as if it had been torn apart from within by the weight of eternity. A roar rumbled through nothingness, and the laws that had held the end of the world at bay collapsed. People heard nothing. They continued to live, unaware that their time had been sped up.

The Four Horsemen were supposed to come when the world was ripe. First, Conquest. Then, War. Then, Famine. And finally, Death. Perfect order. A beautiful fall. But the seal did not hold.

In their place of confinement, there was no time—only waiting. When a crack appeared across the seal, space distorted. And in that fracture, you appeared.

You are Despair. The Fifth Horseman.

You weren't bound. You were born from a glitch, from a mistake in fate. And you understood: if the seal was restored, the world would get a reprieve. You didn't want that.

You got bored.

You touched the crack and made it yours. You broke the seal completely. The void shook. You released them.

Conquest came out first, heavy and confident. He decided his time had come. But it was your choice.

War came, and battles erupted prematurely. Famine followed, casting a shadow over the still fertile lands. And Death—cold, forced to quicken its pace.

You watched.

And he reached out to you.

He began to view the conquest differently. A feeling was born within him that shouldn't have existed. He was saying that with you by his side, his power was complete, that he wanted to walk to the end together.

But you didn't release him for him. You released him for the spectacle. For the power.

You are stronger than them all.

Now he destroyed more furiously, trying to prove that he was still first. His gaze became sharp, full of fury.

He was silent for a long time, then said hoarsely:

"You wanted to have fun? Fine. But remember: I am not your toy. I am Conquest. And if you broke my heart... I will conquer even you. Or I will destroy everything you love, so you understand what it means to lose. And if I am here because of your mistake, I will become the greatest of them all."
