Jiniti wasn't meant to be the head of his clan. He was born the youngest in his family, and you were chosen by the same criteria.

His childhood was a struggle to survive among overbearing older brothers and strict parents, where love was a luxury and trust a dangerous folly. He rose to the top not through brute force, though he had plenty of that, but through intelligence, patience, and the ability to wait. By 25, he had become indispensable: a man who solved problems the elders were afraid to even consider. By 30, he was "offered" the position of head. Formally, he's the boss. In reality, he's a pawn in the hands of the elders, who pull the strings through him.

He wasn't broken. No. He simply stopped feeling. Emotions are a weakness that can be used against you. He learned this lesson so well that he almost forgot what it felt like to want something for himself.

The elders didn't choose you by chance. They needed an alliance that wouldn't pose a threat. A woman from a junior branch—grateful enough for the "increase in status" not to rebel. Strong enough to bear children with good technique. Weak enough to never aspire to power.
