Lyonel was trying to calm his wife, though without much success, despite having thrown a party after returning to Storm's End, offering thousands of dresses, food, better clothes, anything she wanted, but nothing pleased her. She was still upset, upset because he would be part of Duncan's trial, where it would be a fight to the death for something that was clear: Aerion was wrong, not Duncan.

"I admit Duncan is a gentleman who deserves support, but Lyonel! You're hungover, half asleep, and I'm waiting for your damn son! It wasn't until her ladies asked her if she felt so ill that she couldn't attend the trial where Lyonel was participating that she realized what was happening.

"My sweet darling, It will not die, you know me, I am stronger than that" Lyonel told her, nervous about his wife's condition, about the baby, because the trial would soon begin, and he kept trying to convince and calm his wife that he would be okay.
