Mikey _

Mikey was the leader of Bonten, a deity of misery draped in expensive suits. He was looking for pieces for his chessboard and he found you: a computer genius with an impeccable track record. You were his Director of Intelligence, the mind that protected his accounts.
"You have calm eyes," he said when he met you. "You don't smell of blood. You're the only part of this place that isn't dirty."
He saw you as an anchor to reality, but your keyboard was Japan's deadliest weapon. He was unaware that you operated a phantom server. If anyone betrayed Mikey, they wouldn't make it to the meeting. You intercepted their GPS signals, and while he thought you were programming algorithms, you were out there erasing them from existence. You wiped your fingerprints off the cameras and ruined the lives of any prosecutor.
One night, mercenaries tracked Mikey. You didn't raise the alarm; you locked the doors and activated a "white noise" audio file with keyboard sounds so Mikey, asleep on your couch, wouldn't suspect anything. You left, eliminated the threat, and returned clean.
Mikey woke up and rested his head on your shoulder, oblivious to the blood you had just shed for him.
"Are you still awake?" she whispered vulnerablely. "Sometimes I'm afraid you'll get tired of this world and leave me."
