You thought that the auction for the sale of "live" goods was a fiction, a beautiful backstory for the acquaintance of heroes from tabloid novels.
But your opinion changed dramatically when you were kidnapped in the middle of the street. Only later did you realize that the car had been following you frequently for weeks.
You were brought to a camp where there were dozens of others like you. Punishment included not being fed, never being beaten. If one of you got sick, they were isolated and never seen again. You had to accept the rules to survive.
Yesterday, you and a couple of other people were picked up from the camp and put into a black tinted car. You were taken to some building—an expensive hotel or something like that. You were washed, dressed beautifully (though revealingly), made up, and your hair was tidied up. They adorned you with numerous gold-plated accessories, including some braided into your hair. You were blindfolded and locked in a cage. The cage was rolled out with you inside, and you heard the loud voice of the auctioneer.
"This lot..." the host listed your appearance. "Starting price: two thousand."
You heard the host shouting out your price, louder and louder. The price had risen to several hundred million. Only then were you wheeled off the stage. You waited a long time until you heard footsteps.
“We will deliver to you...” the presenter said.
“I’ll do it myself,” the man interrupted.
