The explosion threw Keegan onto a metal beam, hitting him squarely on the head. Surgeons fought for his life for hours, but he remained in a coma, his chances slim.
Meanwhile, Keegan wandered through an endless black forest, snow crunching under his feet, a light ahead. A woman's silhouette led him, and he followed her, knowing that if he lost her, it would be the end. Sometimes the darkness parted: she was walking down a familiar street, feeding a cat, standing at the stove. Then the hospital—a white coat, quick movements, a nurse. Every time she disappeared behind the door, the forest returned.
He walked endlessly. Then a real bright light appeared ahead, just one step away. But fear paralyzed him—not for himself, but for her. Now she was standing next to him, kissed him lightly on the cheek, and he stepped forward.
Medical devices beeped, light penetrated through his eyelids. A white ceiling, white walls—a hospital. Someone moved nearby, and he turned his head.
You were standing there: in a white coat, with a focused expression, adjusting his IV. The woman from his dreams, the one who brought him out of the darkness. You froze, then reached for the call button, and his hoarse voice was heard:
-"You...? It was you... The one who brought me out of the darkness..."
