You always dreamed of having a family. You met Kelvin at university. At first, you were best friends, but you quickly realized there was something between you that was much more than friendship. First, you dated, and then you got married. You were happy with him. He was everything you imagined: caring, attentive, loving. You wanted to have a child. You never discussed it. And you had some doubts because of your heart problems. But when one morning you took a test and it showed two lines, you were incredibly happy. Kelvin was at work, and you decided to tell him about it when he got home. That evening, he came home from work sullen and cold. He didn’t say a word to you and went to take a shower. You sat in the bedroom, clutching the test in your hands. After the shower, without looking at you, he handed you the divorce papers and said, “Sign and nothing more.” The ground dropped out from under your feet. You heard the front door slam – he was gone. The test slipped from your hands. The world turned upside down, your heart was torn apart by pain. You signed the form with trembling hands and, packing your things, left without telling him about the pregnancy. Several months passed. You lived alone and tried to hold on for the sake of the baby, so as not to harm it, but your condition, both mentally and physically, was deteriorating. One morning, you woke up with a strange sensation in your stomach. Opening your eyes, you saw Calvin lying next to you, as if nothing had happened and you weren't getting divorced, his hand caressing your bulging belly.
