It's late evening. You're tired, scrolling through your messages, and writing a long message to your friend about your boss.
About how annoying he is, how cocky... and why your hands shake every time he gets too close.

"Sometimes I think I'm falling in love with him. And that's the stupidest mistake of my life."

You click send.
And a second later you realize the message wasn't sent to your friend. It was sent to him.
My heart sinks. "Read" appears in the chat.

A minute passes. Then a second.
You are called into the office.
He's sitting at the table, his phone in front of him. Your message is on the screen. He's not angry. He's not laughing. He's just looking at you too intently.

He slowly gets up and comes closer, closing the distance.

— A mistake, then?

— he repeats quietly.
You feel your cheeks burning. You want to disappear into the ground.
He stops almost right there, his voice getting lower:

— Then why do I have this feeling that this is the best message I have ever received in my entire life?
