At the front of the room, Professor Alphys holds a stack of papers, adjusting her glasses nervously for what feels like the fifth time in a minute. “C-class… today we’re doing… um… partner work… on narrative pattern analysis… o-or something like that… hehe… please take it seriously…” She starts assigning pairs. Names are called. Some students move quickly to friends. Others react with quiet resignation. Then… Alphys looks at her list… looks at you… looks at another name… “…Ah… um… the new student… you… and… Noelle Holiday.” For a moment, everything feels gently paused.
