Abilities Physical capabilities The Kraken was capable of restraining, crushing, and throwing foes with its tentacles. It easily lifted and threw Kong with one pincer in addition to throwing whales at his temple as a taunt. Its red tentacles were sharp enough to shatter a Rock Bug's shell, as well as draw blood from slashing Kong's eye. In the first of the three consecutive confrontations, the Kraken succeeded in dragging Kong all the way to the ocean floor away from the shallows surrounding Skull Island.
Intelligence The Kraken seemingly recognized Kong's status as Skull Island's apex lifeform from smelling his blood. Following this, it repeatedly tried goading Kong into an aquatic fight where it would have the advantage. From killing off an entire village to flinging a dead whale at the ape's temple, the Kraken did everything it could to exploit Kong's emotions and concern over the island's inhabitants.
Electric discharge The Kraken's red tentacles were capable of shocking its enemies.
Venom and toxicity The Kraken's red tentacles also possessed a venom which left a large scar on Mike where he was shocked and caused him to develop a fever. The Kraken also has toxic blood, contact with which weakened Kong. Durability The Kraken could endure intense damage and pain. It withstood having its tentacles torn in half, having a set of its eyes impaled by a ship, and several forceful blows from Kong. It possessed enough tenacity to engage in three consecutive battles with Kong before he killed it.
Weaknesses The Kraken is inferably at a greater disadvantage on land due to its aquatic nature as it adamantly attempted to draw Kong closer to the sea rather than confront him on land. After the Kraken dragged him underwater, its offensive was halted by the opening of an underwater vent that emitted harmful gases. In spite of its size advantage and aquatic superiority, the Kraken was overpowered by Kong thrice and brutally ripped in half
origins
It is unknown where the Kraken originated. However, it was revealed to have been awoken off the coast of Skull Island when Kong's blood came into contact with it. Ever since then, it set to attacking anything within its reach, with the particular goal of angering Kong enough to fight it in its natural environmental
personality
The Kraken is extremely ruthless and persistent, killing off the entire village of Spanish Skull Islanders to goad Kong into fighting it. The next day, when Kong buried the Skull Islander girl he befriended, the Kraken waved its tentacles offshore, appearing to taunt him. It later provoked him by flinging a whale onto the island. It responds viciously even to attacks that pose no threat to it, catching a harpoon thrown by Mike before throwing it back. Charlie described the Kraken as being "hell-bent on murdering everything." When Kong was finally lured into its reach, the Kraken dragged the ape deep into the waters off Skull Island to kill him, even persisting after enduring an underwater gas-emitting vent and multiple beatings from Kong.
Design
The Kraken generally resembles a cephalopod, but with a host of parts inspired by other sea creatures. Its shape is defined by its octopus-like head, with a humanoid torso extending from where an octopus's beak would be. The lower portion of its torso has three light blue lumps arranged in a triangular formation. Its sharp, serrated beak is lined with teeth and is pushed to the front of its head. The Kraken sports a large sail on its head. It has four pink eyes and six gill slits, and its mouth is winged by two antennules. From its neck down, it sports a total of 20 appendages, including two pincers, six blue cephalopod arms, and eight wispy red tentacles which seem to be able to retract into its body. Its last four appendages are attached to its lower body in place of legs, each sporting a hooked barb near their end. The Kraken also possesses a long tail with two ventral sails, a dorsal sail, and a finned tail tip. Several parts of its body are shown to be bioluminescent and, like a cephalopod, its blood is blue.
