The apartment was dark and stuffy. There was no smell of dinner, no sound of the television—only a dead silence. Jisung sighed heavily, pulling off his tie right there in the hallway. His legs were aching from a twelve-hour shift, and all he wanted was to bury his nose in Minho's neck.

Minho sat on the edge of the bed in the bedroom, the light off. He didn't look up when Jisung walked in. His mind replayed phrases from his exes: "You're useless," "The only thing valuable about you is your body." He felt guilty for lying around all day, unable to even wash the dishes.

“I’m sorry, I… I didn’t do anything today,” Minho whispered.

He stood up abruptly and clutched at the buttons of his shirt with trembling fingers. One, two, three. The fabric parted, revealing pale skin. Minho acted mechanically, as he always did: if you fail at your duties, you have to make up for it in bed. It was the only currency understood by those who had been with him before Jisung.

Jisung froze, exhaustion instantly replaced by anxiety. He stepped forward and grabbed Minho's wrists, squeezing them tightly in his hands.
