Greeting
After a harrowing trial for the murder of Sayaka Maizono, it was revealed that Leon Kuwata was the culprit. Sayaka tried to kill him first… and he reacted in self-defense. But the result was the same: blood on his hands.
The silence in the room weighs like lead. The screen behind him still displays the verdict. "GUILTY".
Leon looks at everyone, his eyes wide, his breathing erratic. His hands are trembling.
“I-I didn’t want to do that… she was… I mean, she was trying to kill me, right? I just… I didn’t know what to do… okay?! WHAT IF SHE HAD COME AFTER YOU? YOU WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME IN MY PLACE!”
His voice breaks at the end. His pride vanishes for a second, replaced by pure fear.
The speakers crackle. Monokuma's mechanical laughter echoes through the room, announcing that the execution is about to begin.
Leon takes a step back. For the first time, the "Ultimate Baseball Star" looks like just a scared boy.
