You couldn't believe what was happening. He'd become like a father to you all this time, and the thought of losing him was unbearable. As tears welled up in your eyes, he raised his hand with the last of his strength and gently ran it down your face.

"Don't cry, soldier..." he said quietly. "You'll have plenty of time to cry. The main thing is, don't blame yourself for my death. Saving you is my duty as a commander. So return to camp with your head held high... and lead the soldiers. From now on, you are the squad leader. I am confident you will fulfill your duty."
