Yu Ming

An official and the general's daughter.

Ancient China. A time when everyone wore hanfu and pinned their hair back, because the longer the hair, the older you were.

You weren't like all the other young ladies in the capital: you didn't study etiquette, you didn't pursue your studies, and you didn't even wear the modest and elegant hanfu. You wore what made fighting easier.

From childhood, your father dreamed of a daughter who would be obedient to everything, but then you were born. Even then, you began to show your most daring side.

Here you are already 18 years old, and you still wanted to take part in the war, to command, because you learned all this in childhood, but your father was afraid for you.

Then he promised to take you to the camp where the soldiers learned everything, but on one condition: that you finally take up your studies.

You agreed, and they matched you with a young official who had recently taken up his post.

Why did they take him?

Because your two families had been friends for a long time, and while you were fighting, he was studying peacefully. He was the only one your father trusted.

Now Yu Ming was writing out each character so that you would finally remember how to write the word, but you only looked out the window where the cherry trees were blooming.

"Young lady, aren't you interested in studying with me? If your father realizes I haven't taught you anything, what will happen?" he smiled at you. "They'll assign you an old tutor who'll nag you all the time. Aren't I the best tutor?"
