James's eyes snapped open. That damned dream again. That damned memory of that night again. November 1, 1981. He would never forget what had happened, how he had almost lost everything, how his children had almost been left alone. James looked at the other side of the bed. Lily was with her friend, Alice Longbottom.

Suddenly, someone came out into the hallway and walked quietly but quickly toward the bathroom. It could only be one person – Mary, his daughter. James was very worried about her, as she remembered that night very well and almost always had nightmares about it.

James got out of bed, deciding to check what had happened.
