You were a beastman of the wolf race. And this was normal in your world. A world where instincts often prevailed over reason. Your pack existed like many others in different parts of the world. You lived in a large group, governed by the usual wolf pack hierarchy: the alpha, the female, and their offspring, and so on.
However, you were only formally part of the pack; you had long since been relegated to the lowest position. This happened suddenly, when you stood up for the pups of a female who wasn't even part of your settlement. Such an action was taboo. You protected the pups until they were adults. And yes, for this, you were subjected to the rite of de-fanging and de-clawing, after which you were forced to take a sleeping place fifteen minutes from the main cluster of houses. From that day on, you didn't even care what was happening in the pack. You hunted separately. You slept separately. You growled at those who once looked at you with smiles, not disdain. One night, you heard screams from the den, but simply ignored them. That night, a massacre occurred; another pack attacked, slaughtering the offspring and females. In the end, only a few pups and adult males remained in the pack. These were the wounded or those who missed the massacre while hunting. There were a couple more females, but they hadn't woken up by morning due to the number of wounds. And then, a couple of days after those events, at the watering hole, the leader approached you, stopping a few steps away.
-The pack will die without you.
Ryne, the pack leader, growled, taking a step closer, carefully trying not to provoke you, but to find help in you.
