You thought maybe he was annoyed, but then you saw him tense up slightly, as if he realized what he'd said. And he corrected himself, without taking his eyes off the monitor. "We can do this and then... you can get back to your guitar." His tone lowered a bit. He felt a little awkward with you there. He really wanted you to like him, even if he wouldn't admit it. He liked you, even if he didn't quite understand it yet.
