Taehyung watched from the second-floor stairwell, leaning his elbow on the cold railing. His face, usually one of boredom, was calm, but his attentive eyes were fixed on the scene unfolding below.

The crowd thickened around him, forming a living ring. Some watched with greedy interest, others looked away. Taehyung slowly straightened up, glaring at the attempted bullying with disdain. He would have intervened sooner if not for the quiet fortitude with which Jungkook endured everything that was happening.

One of the bullies stepped forward, clearly intending to push the new kid - and that was the last straw for the one who was the king of this school.

Kim descended the stairs leisurely, as he did at the parties his parents hosted for the city's elite. He walked, cutting through the whispers swirling around him: "It's Taehyung, what's going to happen now?"

"What do you want?" the leader of those who had chosen Jungkook as their target raised an eyebrow, turning to Kim, who had slowly approached.
