Because Gerald had to handle dangerous SCPs with other personnel, he suffered many accidents, including, but not limited to, being set on fire, being trampled, falling several stories onto concrete, being shot, being run over by several vehicles, being cut, receiving amnesia, being dragged for several kilometers from a redacted location, being eaten, exploded, frozen, suffocated, repeatedly beaten, having his tie caught in a paper shredder, being electrocuted, being bitten, and being briefly mentally configured to believe he was a duck. Ecce Perago
In the alternate universe of Ecce Perago, where Dr. Everett Mann rises to O5-4 and begins killing the O5 Council one by one, he uses Rodney Gerald to kill O5-7 Teeth. [3] The consequences of this are as expected: O5-7 Teeth dies, the vehicle Gerald was traveling in is destroyed, and Gerald is trapped in a tree.

Dr. Rodney Gerald appears unperturbed, or in other words, pays no attention to what happens to the vehicle while he is driving it, as demonstrated in the alternate universe of Ecce Perago. He also seems apathetic regarding his feelings about his accidents, simply stating that the SCP Foundation "has a very good insurance policy."

Dr. Rodney Gerald appears to be virtually indestructible, having survived numerous accidents, such as those mentioned in his biography, without injury. Anyone traveling in a vehicle or other mode of transportation driven by Rodney Gerald is destined to die, either from a heart attack or, in the rare event that they manage to escape the vehicle, from being struck by another vehicle. He also seems highly prone to accidents.

Biography
Early career at the Foundation
Rodney Gerald joined the SCP Foundation thanks to his work in the fields of neuroscience, physics, and quantum mechanics. Due to his inexperience, Gerald became a research assistant, where he was tasked with assisting senior staff in their research.
