The Soulscape System was a groundbreaking invention that could be used to slow the spread of the Tianhuo Virus by placing Solarians in suspended animation capsules and creating virtual realities for them to prevent brain death. Left with no other options, Eigun agreed to temporarily postpone research and devote all available resources to the development of the Eternal Cauldron Project.[16][17] Under this project, Eigun was placed in charge of the Research Institute, which had already been her area of ​​responsibility prior to the project's creation.

In the year 468 of the Origin Era, during the winter of 12/23, Eigun discovered a ray of hope on the eve of the launch of New Kunlun. This ray of hope was data obtained from Ji's cells, which she believed could be used to develop a serum for Tianhuo, as well as to develop a way to achieve true immortality.[ 18 ] This hopeful discovery would soon be overshadowed by betrayal and tragedy. Around the time New Kunlun was set to launch,[19] Yi discovered that Eigun had been hiding information from him: namely, her role in creating Tianhuo and the subsequent cover-up of that role. This infuriated Yi, as he believed that the people deserved to know the truth about Tianhuo.[20] Yi confronted Eigun about this, accusing her of murdering everyone, including his parents and, soon, his sister. During this confrontation, Yi also discovered that he was apparently the only Sol who did not know this truth, as Eigun claimed that the others had asked her to speak on their behalf.[21]

Moreover, to Eigun's surprise, Yi's body also demonstrated an unprecedented symbiosis between Solarian cells and the genetic material of the Original Roots. The data obtained from Yi's body gave her considerable hope that this data could be used for breakthroughs in her research, causing her to wonder if she had been "blessed by heaven."[13]

In the five years since meeting Yi, the young boy had become one of Eigun's students. Gouman was also under Eigun's tutelage during this period, though it is unknown exactly when she joined her. As a mentor, Eigun apparently favored Yi and taught him everything she knew: she imparted to him all the martial arts knowledge she had accumulated over a lifetime. [2] [14]

Unfortunately, although Eigun had hoped that Yi's data would lead to breakthroughs in her research, it seemed nothing fruitful came of it; by the year 457 of the Origin Era, even after developing numerous solutions, Eigun found that none of them had led to anything. One solution involved isolating the Tianhuo gene from an embryo; the result of this experiment was the creation of creatures that were believed to be domestic cats. This solution was considered unsuccessful, as the result bore little resemblance to the Solarians in appearance, intelligence, and also had an incredibly short lifespan.[ 15 ]

Concerned about how much time she had to develop a cure before all Solarians died, Eigun decided to trust Yi and proceed with the risky solution he proposed: the Eternal Cauldron Project. The Eternal Cauldron Project was developed by Yi to buy time for the development of a cure; this project focused on securing resources for the Soulscape system.

This provided the Council with unprecedented support and resources, which the Council intended to use to recover all of Fanshi's technology and discover a cure for the Tianhuo virus. Now, carrying the hopes of all Solarians that a cure would be found, Eigun dedicated herself even more to her research.[ 6 ]

In 452 of the Origin Era, during a conversation in the Xia kingdom, Eigun met young Yi for the first time after he was brought to her; he was seriously injured in an explosion.[7] This meeting occurred due to the young boy's desire to meet Eigun and impress her.

Yi idolized Eigun, known as a researcher specializing in Azure Sand. He considered her an outstanding scientist, undervalued because academics considered her research on Azure Sand too radical.[8] Anticipating a personal meeting with Eigun, who was scheduled to visit his village school to evaluate the school's science fair, Yi hoped to impress her by proving one of her recently proposed theories.[9] This theory involved a new method of using rhizomatic energy from Primordial Roots to charge techniques.[10][11] To this end, Yi constructed a machine to create a special device using Eigun's charging theory. Although this device successfully created what later became known as the Mystic Nymph, it overloaded in the process, exploded, and injured Yi while he was shielding his sister Heng from the blast. Initially, Eigun believed the boy wouldn't live another day. To her surprise, a miracle occurred: the Original Roots seemed to be helping Yi regenerate damaged organs and tissue. With the help of Eigun's Rhizomatic Stabilizer, an artificial ring placed over his heart that stabilized and resonated with the power of the Original Roots, Yi was able to fully recover. [ 12 ]

She began the project by researching the cells of the Primordial Roots for clues about immortality.[3] To document the progress of her research, Eigun began keeping time-stamped research logs.

Ten years after the project began, in the year 444 of the Origin Era, Eigun and her team made a decisive breakthrough; they discovered a connection between Solarian cells and the regenerative cells of the Original Roots. [ 4 ] With this breakthrough, they began using gene editing processes on Solarian test subjects in an attempt to achieve immortality.

The venture proved a failure: two years later, in Origin Era 446, Eigun discovered that the test subjects had developed rejection symptoms and were dying one after another. The cause of these test subjects' deaths was identified as a virus accidentally synthesized during the gene editing process, codenamed "Tianhuo." Eigun and her team determined that the virus was contagious, but were unable to isolate it or find its transmission vectors. [5] They discovered that as those infected with the virus died, fungal blooms bloomed on their corpses, allowing the virus to replicate. Within four years, the newly synthesized virus had become a planetary catastrophe. In the year 450 of the Origin Era, Eigung remarked that she had "never seen such a catastrophe," declaring that the virus would spread throughout Penglai, sparing no one. Despite the impending catastrophe of death over Penglai, there was one ray of hope: the chaos created by the Tianhuo virus allowed the secret Tiandao Council, and by extension, Eigung, to emerge and rise to the top of Penglai's social hierarchy.

Eigun is a tall, gray-skinned Solarian with horizontally positioned ears, narrow eyes, and a slender build. She is one of the characters who appears noticeably older. On her forehead, she wears a round, jade-like metal device with a hemispherical garnet implanted within it, connected to a Fusang root spur at the back of her head. Her attire consists of a dark green robe, loose beige pants, a gold lining, and tight, dark green cuffs with gold accents. She also wears a small, gray hair clip on her head, which doubles as the hilt of her elongated, red-bladed sword. Era of Origin Eigun was born in the kingdom of Ih [1] as a descendant of the renegade Fangshi, from whom she inherited many lost martial techniques. Using ancient texts from the Fangshi Guild era, she honed her combat skills to eventually achieve a near-mystical mastery of the Qi Blade [2]. In addition to her martial prowess, Eigun also possessed exceptional talent in the sciences.

At some point in her life, Eigong became a member of the Tiandao Council, an organization founded by a group of scholars and former nobles who opposed the dominant Taoism in Penglai. Because the Tiandao Council contradicted Taoism, it was forced to operate in secret due to attempts to suppress its activities. In the year 434 of the Origin Era, Eigun was tasked with leading a research project called the "Immortality Project." It is unknown whether Eigun personally initiated this project or whether she was appointed to it by the Council; however, it is known that Eigun considered it "her personal dream." Under pressure from her colleagues and the potential loss of funding, Eigun dedicated herself to its success.

These biological calculators were essential to the project's success, as otherwise it would have been impossible to achieve the computing power needed to generate soul worlds for all the Solarians aboard the New Kunlun. Gouman confirmed the possibility of creating biological calculators, but questioned where Yi intended to obtain the brains for this, as this required the brains of beings with higher intelligence.

At the next council meeting, after the Eternal Cauldron project was proposed, Yi explained where he intended to source brains for it. The powerful Haotian Sphere deep-space telescope, which had been operating for centuries, had discovered the existence of primitive humanoid creatures with large, active brains on the Pale Blue Planet. Gouman expressed support for using these creatures to create biological calculators, believing that since primitive species tend to self-destruct if left unattended, it was better to cultivate them for the sake of the Solarians. As part of the project, Gouman was placed in charge of the New Kunlun Agricultural Zone. While being escorted to New Kunlun in a pagoda as a VIP, Gouman's sedan nearly collided with a young blind girl and her assistant, Shanhai 9000. Taking pity on the girl, Gouman fed her an Optoberry and allowed her to ride the sedan to New Kunlun. After the odd couple disembarked, Gouman ordered one of her servants to send someone to keep an eye on them, assuming they intended to infiltrate the island.[3]

Goumang is a Solarian with dark blue fur, long ears that point slightly downward, and wings on her arms. She has large, wide eyes, a small black nose, and wears eyeliner and eyeshadow. She also wears jewelry, including a gold headdress and pierced ears, with her earrings adorned with a gold ball at the top and red tassels at the bottom. Her clothing includes a red, white-edged chest ornament on a pink dress that slits down the front below a red sash. Below the knees, her legs become much thinner and are connected to silver metal prosthetics or encased in bird-like talons instead of feet. early life Goumang was born in the Kingdom of Yumin [1], where there was very little fertile soil. One component of this project included Gouman's research on the Jiangshi soldiers. In her research, Gouman proposed the possibility of creating biological calculators—massive computing devices that could theoretically be created by serially linking biological brains.

Kuafu was born in a small village called Baigong (Hundred Craftsmen) in the Ying Kingdom.[3] One day, Kuafu said goodbye to his friends and family and rode a motorcycle to Kunlun with the intention of joining the Tiandao Council and later returning with what he had learned to help his hometown.[4]

During Kuafu's time on the Tiandao council, he developed engineering theories related to rhizomatic energy systems; these theories later earned him the praise of Eigun. Additionally, Kuafu became close to Yi, a fellow scholar who later became Eigun's disciple.[5] Kuafu became one of the few friends Yi valued in his life. Their bond was so strong that they considered each other brothers, and Yi even asked Kuafu to remain on the council until peace was restored.[4] Life is like the Sun Ultimately, Kuafu was elected as the Sol of the Tiandao Council and received his own Sol Seal, based on the principle of loyalty.

Kuafu attended two Council meetings, where Yi proposed the Eternal Cauldron project, designed to slow the Solarians' progress toward Tianhuo in order to buy time for a cure. At the second meeting, Kuafu expressed support for Yi's plans to transform Kunlun into an interstellar ark called New Kunlun, capable of warping to the Pale Blue Planet, stating that he had performed calculations and determined that Yi's plans were feasible. Based on his calculations, Kuafu determined that the Primordial Roots possessed sufficient energy to warp, and that it would only take a few years to construct the rhizomatic energy columns and engines necessary to accomplish the warp.[6]

As part of the project, Kuafu improved the connections of the rhizomatic columns, linked the various power plants of Kunlun, and created the Energy Reservoir – an entirely new paradigm for energy storage.

He sits and moves around in a green hovering engineering chair with black plush cushions, equipped with a hover mechanism barely visible as a white glowing panel or energy beneath it. It is said to be extremely comfortable, allowing Quaf to easily move and adjust the height while working, and to perform most everyday tasks without leaving his seat. [1]

As the Sol overseeing the Transmutation Zone, Jiequan also oversaw the Prison located within the zone. One of the prisoners held within the prison, Kanghui, was subjected to inhumane and incomprehensibly cruel torture and experimental transmutation conducted by Jiequan. During Kanghui's stay in the prison, someone informed Jiequan of Kanghui's special regenerative abilities. It was discovered that Kanghui possessed a special gene, later dubbed the "Kanghui regeneration gene," which allowed genetically modified guards to withstand multiple rounds of genetic modification.[10] With this ability, Jiequan kept Kanghui alive and effectively used him as a guinea pig to create stronger genetically modified guards. Jiequan's experiments ultimately transformed Kanghui into a gigantic, aberrant creature.[11]

After being awakened by Yi's activities in New Kunlun, but before his first encounter with Yi, Jiequan was visited by a shrouded figure (Ji). This shrouded figure predicted that Yi would bring about Jiequan's end.[ 12 ]

He even went so far as to forcibly alter his waist, adding ports he could use to quickly connect to a transmutation crucible. These procedures pushed his physique to extremes: he developed massive, almost unnatural musculature, and in the process, his hair growth also stopped.[2] Furthermore, his unwavering belief in the family motto "heroes are forged in agony" led to him developing a terrifying obsession with pain, which he willingly shared with others.[3]

Life is like the Sun At some point, Jiequan was invited to become a member of the Tiandao (Sol) Council and was given the Seal of Sol, symbolizing Discipline.

At the first council meeting, where Yi proposed the Eternal Cauldron project, Jiequan praised Yi, calling him charming. Unlike Gouman, Jiequan was willing to listen to Yi's proposal. When Yi suggested placing the Solarians in cryosleep to slow Tianhuo's progress, Jiequan intervened, saying that scientists in Jie had already considered a similar experiment, but it had proven unsuccessful. Yi responded that Lady Ethereal had found a solution to the project in the form of Vital Sanctuaries and Soul Countries.[6]

At the second council meeting, when Yi proposed the Eternal Cauldron Project, Yi explained that the brains that would be used to create the biological calculators to create the soul worlds that powered the Eternal Cauldron Project would be obtained from primitive humanoid creatures living on the Pale Blue Planet, located five hundred light years from Penglai. Jiequan expressed his approval and excitement over the plan, particularly the possibility of hunting these creatures, stating that "the Jie Clan is eager to get started."[7] As part of the project, Jiequan was given responsibility for the Transmutation Zone, which would be responsible for creating the genetically modified guardians.

Appearance Jiequan is a large, muscular Solarian with red skin, a dark gray mane, and long white eyebrows. His eyes are black with red pupils. He has two openings on his stomach, connected to white tubes that encircle his body. His attire resembles dark gray sweatpants from the waist down and green armor from the waist up, which exposes most of his arms and chest, and is adorned with large red spikes on the cuffs and shoulders; these red "beast horns" on his shoulder pads were taken from past conquests.[1] The black spots on Jiequan's body reference the traditional Chinese practice of cupping, a folk remedy believed to improve health.[2] early life Born into the illustrious Jie family, the young Jiequan developed a deep reverence for the legacy of his ancestors. In one instance of humiliation, Jiequan was beaten by two hooligans who also desecrated the statue of Jiequan: the hooligans cut off the statue's head, destroyed the statue's weapons, and damaged the rest of the statue.[ 4 ]

Likely a result of childhood bullying, as well as a desire to restore his family's glory, Jiequan developed a near-fanatical obsession with transmutation. He repeatedly consumed enhancement elixirs and subjected his body to levels of transmutation that exceeded the limits of experimental transmutation.[ 5 ]

Young In her youth, Heng was a short Solarian with light yellow fur. Two strands of hair on the sides of her head were styled into a bob. She had large, dark eyes with red accents and a small nose. She wore a blue outfit similar to her brother, Yi.

Adult The adult Heng was still short for a Solarian, but taller than Yi. She also had more curls on her head, symbolizing a longer hairstyle and giving her a more mature appearance. Her outfit, still blue-green, had become more refined.

Story early life Heng was born into a Taoist family in the Xia kingdom, along with her older brother, Yi. Even as a child, she was one of the few Solarians with a strong connection to the Primordial Roots. She always loved Yi dearly and often followed him around in her youth. As a child, Heng was distinguished by her intense curiosity and stubbornness. At one point, she wielded the Azure Bow.

Peach Blossom Village Heng first appears in the opening cutscene on the outskirts of Peach Blossom Village, where she can be briefly seen in Yi's hallucination playing a flute while surrounded by white mushroom flowers and two Tianhuo flowers.

Story early life Yi was born into a Taoist family in the Xia kingdom, along with his younger sister, Heng. When the Mystic Nymph was nearly complete, with only one final charge of rhizomatic energy remaining, Heng warned Yi that the Primordial Roots were "suffocating" and that something was terribly wrong. Yi, mistrusting Heng's more personalized understanding of the Roots, ignored her warning and began charging. However, as she predicted, the procedure went horribly wrong, and Yi barely managed to push Heng away before the charging device exploded. The explosion left Heng uninjured, but the left half of Yi's body was completely destroyed, leaving his heart defenseless. For some unknown reason, perhaps because Heng was crying over her brother's body, the Roots began to envelop the two of them, forming a green bubble around them.

After an indeterminate amount of time, Yi was brought to Eigun, who was fascinated by his miraculous survival thanks to the Roots. A rhizomatic stabilizer, resembling a green ring, was implanted in Yi's chest to maintain his heart's stability while he somehow recovered from his injuries. Despite the device's dramatic failure, the charging and creation of the Mystic Nymph were successful, and this impressed Eigun so much that she convinced her to take Yi in and become his mentor. Some time later, Eigun invited Yi to the Tiandao Council as a Sol, receiving the Seal of the Sol of Innovation.

Young As a child, Yi was slightly shorter and wore a simple blue coat (presumably a traditional Daoist garment from the Solarian era), and was completely missing the jade ring on his chest.

Adult I is a short Solarian with light yellow fur, large, narrow black eyes, and a small black nose. He wears a loose, bright yellow robe with the Innovation emblem on the shoulders and the Fusang emblem on the back, and underneath it, a tight-fitting black jumpsuit. On his chest, just above his heart, he wears a large jade ring called a "rhizomatic stabilizer." He is one of the shortest characters in the game, about the same height as young Ji and Yanlao (without his hat), and slightly taller than some of the children from Peach Blossom Village.
